Aaron Polanco, 48, lifelong resident of North Platte, passed away on September 24, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Born on July 30, 1976, to John and Mildred Polanco, Aaron spent his entire life in North Platte. After graduating high school, he began working at the North Platte Inn, where he served as Housekeeping Supervisor until his passing.
Aaron was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Eagles. He enjoyed playing pool, participating in tournaments, and singing karaoke with friends. He was also a passionate football fan, cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and playing fantasy football. His dogs brought him great joy, and he spent much of his free time with them.
Family was central to Aaron’s life. He especially cherished Fridays spent with his mother, playing Keno together, and he looked forward to celebrating Christmas with loved ones. His kindness and love for family and friends will be fondly remembered.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Shawn. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Clarice Shields, Angela Nila, and Cynthia Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Monday, September 30, with burial to follow at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday at Odean Colonial Chapel, with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
