Peter McNeill passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the afternoon, surrounded by his family’s love and tranquilly. At 76, he surmounted obstacles in life with extraordinary bravery and fortitude. Having an initial diagnosis in 2012 and then cancer returned in 2020, he accepted the gift of extra time with unflinching dedication.
Peter showed a great will of spirit along his path, gracefully and tenaciously negotiating the challenges of disease. Those closest to him found inspiration in his capacity to find delight and purpose in the time he had. Not only for his bravery in the face of hardship but also for his vivid presence and the warmth he brought into their life, family and friends will remember him.
All those who had the honour of knowing Peter will be very much missed; his legacy is one of courage, love, and endurance. Those left behind will always be inspired and uplifted by his memory, which reminds us of the need of savouring every moment and boldly confronting obstacles in our life.
The family shows thanks for the help and compassion they have received during Peter’s illness at this period of grieving. The hearts of his loved ones will carry his unquenchable energy, a monument to a life well-lived.
