Local officials still give William “Charlie” Martin, an 88-year-old Redmond dementia patient, top attention during the continuous hunt in Kittitas County. The elder departed his house on September 24 without telling his family, therefore raising urgent questions about his safety and well-being.

Two days later, on September 26, his car was found abandoned in the rocky Colockum area, northeast of Ellensburg. Family friends found the automobile; evidence points to him leaving the car on his own after travelling alone to the isolated location. This resulted in a broad search including drones, K-9 units, off-road vehicles, skilled Search and Rescue teams, and other specialised resources taken from several surrounding counties.

Family members have been kept completely updated on every stage of the search and have shown amazing fortitude during this traumatic journey during this long attempt. The events have profoundly impacted not only those closest to him but also the larger community since many people have a common wish to help in some significant manner for the continuous search.

Authorities advise hunters and outdoor enthusiasts in the Colockum area to keep alert and report any strange occurrences as the first hunting season there starts on Saturday, October 5. Those with game cameras nearby are also requested to go over any film they have gathered for hints that will help find Charlie.

The missing senior is a balding Caucasian man with a thin frame that weights about 120 pounds. Last saw was him sporting blue trousers, trainers and a white polo shirt. The first search notice on the social media page of the department included a picture of him.

Many thanks go to the several organisations and people who have given time, money, and assistance to further our goal. The flood of community compassion and concern is evidence of the group effort to bring Charlie safely home. For the Martin family, prayers, support, and ongoing ideas are urged at this trying period.
