Sue passed away quietly on October 1, 2024 accompanied by close family members. Her absence will be much felt both inside and outside of the university community. Her compassion, knowledge, and commitment to developing young brains changed many lives and left a legacy that will live long via the memories kept by those who loved her.
Many people, particularly those whose life was impacted by Sue Briggs’s relentless commitment to education, experience a great sense of loss at news of her passing. Characterized by her kindness and dedication, Sue made a lasting effect on Morwell Park Primary School colleagues as well as pupils. Her impact went much beyond the classroom, into the hearts of every person who had the honour of knowing her.
Thoughts and real sympathies out to Sue’s family, friends, and all members of the community grieving this death. It is abundantly evident during this trying period how much she meant to everybody around her and how much her absence would be felt.
On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, starting at 11:00 a.m., Latrobe Valley Funeral Services Chapel will host a Funeral Service and Committal for Cremation in honour of Sue Briggs. Traralgon The service will be accessible via a webcast for anyone unable to physically attend so friends and colleagues may join in honouring her life and legacy.
Contributions to Breast Cancer Trials reflect Sue’s own ongoing spirit of giving and support and replace flower gifts. These gifts are a significant means of carrying on her legacy and providing help in an issue near her heart.
