Age 74, Michael G. Ross will be recognised for his great contributions to family life as well as education. Having attended Fenwick High School, he sought further study with distinction, graduating from NIU with a Bachelor’s Degree and then from DePaul University with an MBA and from Dominican University with a Master’s Degree. His love of learning matched his commitment to instruction, which over many years earned him respect as an AP Economics teacher at Addison Trail High School.
Kathy, a kind partner and a rock solid friend through life, loved Michael. His close relationship with John, George (Lisa), Terry (Hope), Tim (Kathy), Della, Eileen, and Annie produced a web of loving support. Affection extended to brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat (John) DeLeonardis, Jim (Patti), and Tim (Susan), so strengthening relationships that would last his lifetime.
He shared knowledge and fun with Brian, Sarah, Heather, Katie, and Jim—who profited much from his direction and compassion—as an uncle. Generosity, honesty, and a dedication to improve the life of others defined his presence in the family and larger community.
From 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., family and friends are welcome to meet at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, Elmhurst ( ½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), to honour and celebrate Michael’s life. Then there will be a private interment honouring the family’s desire for a more personal farewell.
Reflecting Michael’s respect of the natural environment and support of educational activities, donations may be made to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 instead of flowers. By means of this heartfelt homage, his memory will remain inspirational and help towards causes consistent with his principles.
Every person who had the honour of knowing Michael G. Ross leaves a lasting impression on their hearts since he represents a life dedicated to learning, family, and service.
