It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Moore on September 22nd, surrounded by her loving family. Betty had been a beloved resident of the Woodlands of Woolley for the past four years, and during that time, she became a cherished part of our community.
who is Betty Moore?
Betty was a true character, known for her infectious laughter and playful spirit. She had a way of bringing joy to everyone around her, always keeping us smiling. One of the most endearing memories is how she would never call me by my actual name. Despite knowing it, she would always call me Fred or Claude, and this playful banter continued throughout her time here. Even across a room, I’d hear her calling out “Fred” or “Claude,” and it never failed to bring a smile to my face.
Betty had a particular love for blue cheese, which she knew I couldn’t stand. She took great delight in teasing me by offering it whenever she had some, making it a running joke between us. One of my fondest memories of Betty was watching her join a yoga class with the residents. A former yoga instructor, she brought her grace and enthusiasm to everything she did.
Betty shared an extraordinary bond with her devoted husband, Bill. He called every day to check on her, and their love for each other was truly remarkable. While Betty may not have always shown it in front of Bill, behind the scenes, she spoke about him constantly, always with admiration and love.
