Nicholas Grace identified as victim of fatal shooting outside Pueblo Convenience Store

A man fatally shot outside a convenience store in Pueblo has been identified by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office as 56-year-old Nicholas Edward Grace. The tragic incident occurred early on September 26 in the parking lot of the Loaf N’ Jug, located at 1104 Pueblo Blvd. Way. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Preliminary reports from the Pueblo Police Department suggest that the shooting may have arisen from an attempted carjacking. However, Community Engagement Manager Bianca Hicks indicated that investigators are still actively prioritizing the case and have yet to confirm the motive behind the incident.

Officers were dispatched to the convenience store shortly after 3 a.m. on Thursday following reports of a panic alarm and a possible shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Grace in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. His death marks the 16th homicide in Pueblo for the year 2024, compared to 26 total homicides in 2023.
