A 39-year-old man from Santa Teresa, New Mexico, tragically lost his life on Sunday evening, September 22, in a motorcycle accident on Gateway East, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Gateway East, near Lincoln Park. Alex Cole Bustamante was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash took place. Witnesses indicated that the driver of a nearby vehicle merged right into the next lane to avoid a collision with Bustamante’s motorcycle. However, Bustamante’s motorcycle struck the rear left corner of the other vehicle, resulting in him being thrown from the bike.
