According a police report, the Charleston Police Department started an inquiry after an attack on a female student waiting for an Uber in downtown Charleston last month.
About 12:36 a.m. on Sunday, September 15, the 20-year-old student said she was standing on Coming Street when a male approached her and made unwelcome verbal approaches. She turned down his advances, then allegedly aggressively grabbed her and shoved her against a wall, striking her head.
The victim appeared to pass out in an effort to discourage more violence, which drove the assailant off the scene. Reacting to the event, patrolmen from the College of Charleston Public Safety and the Charleston Police Department showed up right away to look into things.
