Andrew Niedzwicki killed in Bicycle Accident with semi-truck in Worden, Clark County

A tragic accident in the Township of Worden has claimed the life of a 65-year-old man. Andrew Niedzwicki was riding his bicycle along CTH N near Dickerson Avenue, just south of Thorp, when he was struck by a semi-truck on Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 8:46 a.m.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred as Richard Wnek, 63, was driving eastbound on CTH N. At that time, Niedzwicki was also traveling east, positioned near the south shoulder of the roadway. As Wnek’s semi-tractor trailer passed, it collided with Niedzwicki, causing him to be thrown onto the south shoulder.

After the collision, Wnek immediately pulled over to report the incident. Emergency responders from the Thorp Area Ambulance Service quickly arrived on the scene and transported Niedzwicki to Stanley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The incident drew a coordinated response from the Thorp Area Fire and Ambulance Service, along with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Clark County Coroner Clarissa Rochester.
