A utility pole deadly crash took the life of a Danville, Kentucky driver. Following the incident, which happened early on Wednesday morning along South 3rd Street, close to Triangle Mart, authorities released more information.
About 1:29 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle collision where a Ford Focus with major front-end damage was found. Arriving, rescuers discovered Antonio Lancaster, 28, unconscious inside the car. He was later declared dead but first taken to a nearby medical institution.
According preliminary results, Lancaster lost control of the car and collided head-on with the power pole. The degree of the incident resulted in temporary road closures from Hustonville Road to Triangle Mart while officials were on-site evaluating. By 7:30 a.m., the impacted route was cleaned and traffic started usual flow.
Local authorities are looking at the events around the tragedy still.
