Ayla, a native of Opelousas and a resident of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life, she was always on the go, embracing productivity and activity. A lover of the outdoors, Ayla enjoyed nature, traveled frequently, and relished playing golf.

In her professional life, Ayla thrived in the hospitality and tourism industry as an event planner. Her work ethic and creativity were evident in the successful management of various venues, earning her respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. With an infectious sense of humor, Ayla was often the life of the party, ensuring that those around her had a wonderful time. Even during her illness, she maintained a positive outlook and a playful spirit, famously drawing a mustache on her face with a permanent marker while playing cards—a testament to her lighthearted nature.

Ayla is survived by her son, Colten Murphy; her father, Coy Watson; and her sisters, Masi Romero and Hylie Watson. She is preceded in death by her mother, Pegi Hoyt.
