Carol Lapiana, 77, formerly of Erie, PA and later of Penn Hills, passed away on September 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was a woman ahead of her time, known for her adventurous spirit and fearless nature. Whether parachuting out of planes or skiing down black diamond slopes, she lived life with boldness and passion.
Carol worked as a hairdresser for many years before dedicating herself to being a homemaker. In the early 1990s, she joined a women’s dek hockey league, embracing her competitive and active nature. One of her greatest joys was spending time on her boat in Erie and hosting family and friends at her cherished Beach 11.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred Lapiana; her brother, Melvin; her father, Melvin Wilcox; and her mother, Daisy Wilcox. She is survived by her son Christopher and his wife Dina Lapiana; and her adored grandchildren, Luca, Nico, and Marco. Carol is also survived by her stepchildren Anthony, Greg (Maria), Marc, and Michael (Sandra) Lapiana, along with her step-grandchildren Nicholas, Austin, Vince, Armand, Michelle, Jacob, and John.
Services for Carol will be held at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd./Roth Chapel, located at 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road), Penn Hills. Carol’s adventurous spirit and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her.
