Alyssa “Yaya” Durant Obituary, Death – It is with deep sorrow that we remember and honor the life of Alyssa “Yaya” Durant, a beloved member of the Ogdensburg and Waupaca communities. Alyssa passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and warmth that touched the lives of many. Her family, friends, and community mourn her loss, but they also celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on everyone who knew her.

Alyssa was born and raised in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin, and graduated from Waupaca High School in 2020. Her passion for helping others guided her path in life. With a strong desire to serve, Alyssa pursued certification as a nursing assistant (CNA), where she found her true calling in caring for others. She extended her talents to the Ogdensburg First Responder team, showing a rare dedication and courage as she worked tirelessly to assist those in need within her community. Her work as a CNA brought her to The Willows and Living Oaks in Iola, where she became known for her warmth and compassion. Colleagues, residents, and families alike valued her gentle spirit, and she became a trusted friend to many.

Outside of her professional life, Alyssa was known for her adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. She enjoyed four-wheeling, paddleboarding, and shooting pool, finding joy in activities that brought her closer to nature and provided time with her friends and family. These hobbies reflected her vibrant, fun-loving personality, which her loved ones will remember fondly.

To honor Alyssa’s life and memory, her family has planned a Celebration of Life event at the Ogdensburg Fire Department on October 26, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The gathering is a chance for those who loved her to come together, share memories, and celebrate the bright light she brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, Alyssa’s family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the University of Washington’s Organ and Tissue Donation program, a cause that reflects her selfless nature and aligns with her spirit of giving.

Alyssa “Yaya” Durant’s kindness, strength, and caring heart will be deeply missed. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of compassion and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
