A 36-year-old man has died in Lynchburg, Virginia, following an early morning shooting incident. Early accounts state that cops answered a call reporting gunfire in the 100 block of Water Gate Drive just after midnight on Tuesday. Arriving, responders found a person with a gunshot wound. The injuries suffered proved fatal, hence Anthony Dwight Davis was declared dead at the site even though first efforts to provide emergency medical help.
Local law enforcement is still actively looking at the occurrence, trying to ascertain the situation around it. As investigators still compile data, no more specifics on possible suspects or a motivation have been made public.
