About Picture Butte Golf Club

The Picture Butte Golf Club boasts 27 holes of championship golf, a diversity of holes, and excellent availability as the only championship golf club in Southern Alberta. “We expanded to 27 holes in 2004,” stated PGA of Canada head professional and club manager Dean Sklarenko. “We had the chance to expand and provide a little bit more availability with the land that was available next to our property, given the volume of play the golf course was receiving.”

The club changed the name of the three nines in 2005 to emphasize the local community’s farming heritage. The most recent nine holes were dubbed the Harvest nine, while the old front and back nine were called Heritage and Homestead. According to Sklarenko, the club is now able to provide a greater range of holes because of the course’s development.
