Robert “Bob” “Dodo” Carder, 82, of Pierce City, MO, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on June 12, 1942, in Stella, MO, Bob was the son of the late George Loren and Hazel Ruth (May) Carder. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1960 and soon began a dedicated career at Jumping Jacks Shoe Company, where he worked for thirty years before retiring.

Bob was a hardworking man, known for his passion for farming and his love for animals. For thirty years, he raised chickens for Tyson’s, and he took great pride in tending to his livestock and farm. He was also a long-time member of the ACRA, participating in steer wrestling for many years. His commitment to his community extended to his volunteer work at the New Site Cemetery, where he helped maintain the grounds. Whether fixing farm machinery, tending fences, or growing prize-worthy tomatoes in his garden, Bob approached every task with dedication and care.
A faithful member of New Site Baptist Church for over sixty years, Bob’s life was defined by his deep faith, hard work, and love for his family. He married Carolyn McGruder on November 19, 1960, in Wayne, MO, and together they shared over sixty-three years of cherished memories.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his son, Bobby Carder (Shawn) of Miami, OK; his daughter, Tracy Gold (Larry) of Pierce City, MO; three grandchildren, Trent Gold (Sara), Kylee Horton (Kyle), and Addee Carder; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Carder Gold and Kingzlee Carder Horton; his brother, Jon Carder of Pierce City, MO; and his sister, Donna Bowman (Ray) of Cassville, MO, along with many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New Site Baptist Church, with interment following at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, MO. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at New Site Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the New Site Food Service Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
