The person who was killed in the head-on collision that took place on Deans Bridge Road has been identified by the Richmond County coroner. The collision took place on Wednesday.
According to the findings of the Augusta County Coroner Mark Bowen, Dorothy Morrow, who was 80 years old and a resident of Augusta, passed away as a result of injuries she incurred in the accident.
Arriving at the scene about 5:45 p.m., emergency responders saw two cars engaged in the incident. One motorist sadly was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities said that the second motorist, together with a number of passengers, was sent to a local medical facility in critical condition.
Currently looking at the events surrounding the incident is Richmond County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Division. As the investigation advances, further details on the disaster are expected.
