A 34-year-old man from El Paso tragically lost his life after being struck twice while crossing the road on Tuesday night, September 24, in the city’s Lower Valley, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Alameda Avenue. Emmanuel Torres was crossing the road when he was initially hit by a pickup truck, which knocked him to the ground. Unfortunately, as Torres lay on the roadway, he was struck again by another pickup truck.
Authorities reported that the driver of the second pickup truck fled the scene, leaving Torres in critical condition. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.
