The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has verified that a terrible occurrence had taken place on Thursday evening in the Towne Lake hamlet, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist who was 25 years old.

Reports state that deputies arrived at Rose Creek Drive, close to Woodstock, at the scene of a single-vehicle accident involving a motorbike at almost 9 p.m. Thursday.

Based on the first findings of the sheriff’s office, it appears that the motorcycle crossed the centre line, collided with the curb and then hit a tree after that.

Identified as Jeremy Long, 25, of Ellijay, the biker was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he subsequently passed away from his life-threatening injuries.

Investigating the facts surrounding the accident, the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit has found

“Speed looks to be a contributing element in the incident,” said Captain Jay Baker.

Authorities are working hard as the inquiry progresses to get more data on the events preceding this catastrophic incident. The community is in mourning at Jeremy Long’s passing; family and friends are offering tributes as they consider his life during trying circumstances.
