John Arthur Oetman of Wayland, Michigan, at the age of 54, passed away in a terrible accident on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He was a cherished Christian and brother in the faith. Due to complications resulting from his severe injuries incurred in the accident, he succumbed to death. John loved his family, life, and his religion. He was a good man who would be the first to help a neighbor in need. Whether it was for family events or church, he was on the go all the time. Every Saturday, he would go woodcutting with friends to make sure he always had wood on hand. John was quite proud of his family, especially since he was now a grandfather. His true absence will be felt by all those who knew him.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, 303 E. Elm St., Wayland, MI 49348. On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a memorial service to memorialize John. Wayland Christian Reformed Church will have a visiting from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. John will be laid to rest in secret in the Hooker Cemetery in Leighton Township. In lieu of flowers, donations can be donated in John’s honor to Wayland CRC or Hope Unexpected.
