Lucas Coly, a French-American rapper and social media influencer who was renowned for his song “I Just Wanna,” passed away on Thursday, according to his manager. He was 27 years old.
The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. Following an Instagram post by Coly’s manager, which included the hashtag #checkonyourfriends, there was speculation that the artist may have committed suicide.
Coly’s most recent Instagram post featured the phrase “I love yall.” More than a decade ago, Coly achieved renown on Vine by posting videos of himself rapping in both English and French. He has amassed a substantial social media following across numerous platforms, with more than one million followers on Instagram and half a million on his YouTube channel.
In 2017, he garnered even more attention when he began dating Instagram icon Amber H. The subsequent year, they collaborated to establish a YouTube channel.
Coly was born in France and immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of eight.
