Luke Nichols, Niagara Falls, NY, 10th grader at Niagara Falls high school has died

Luke A. Nichols, 15, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 23, 2024. Born in Lewiston, NY, he was the beloved son of Michael J. and Lisa M. (Boos) Nichols.

A dedicated 10th grader at Niagara Falls High School, Luke was actively involved in his community as a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout. He played baseball at Hyde Park Little League and soccer at Niagara PAL. As a devout Catholic, Luke received his sacraments and served as an altar server at Divine Mercy Parish, embodying a strong commitment to his faith.

Luke enjoyed kickboxing classes with his brother and was a passionate fan of UFC, football, and boxing. He loved playing video games and spending time on his computer. Family camping trips were a cherished tradition, and he was known for his intelligence and sense of humor, always bringing laughter to those around him. Luke adored his two dogs, Jack and Lucky, and above all, he treasured the time spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his siblings, Amara, Michael II, Eric, and Grace Nichols; his nephew, Gabriel Smith; his grandfather, Walter R. ‘Walt’ Nichols; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmother Carol, maternal grandparents Lorraine Wickett and George Boos, Sr., and cousin Deanna Boos.

Private visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish will be held for family, with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
