Peter Linkletter of Ottawa, Ontario, has died. The Dynamic Bilingual Public Sector Executive and Volunteer Non-Profit Board Chair recently passed away. He died from injuries sustained in tragic car accident. The accident occurred on September 30. His death have left so many hearts completely devastated and shattered. His impact will be forever felt by his community. He will be completely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He had over 25 years of experience as a progressive, visionary leader in seven intricate, politically charged, unionized, and multi-stakeholder organizations. He was a polite, inventive, results-driven person who speaks two languages fluently and enjoys taking on new challenges.
In his capacity as Assistant Commissioner, Policy at Correctional Service Canada, he was responsible for research, policy, and strategic planning. He also responded to concerns presented by the Correctional Investigator, requests for access to information and privacy, and matters pertaining to offender redress and human rights. In addition, I had the privilege of representing inclusivity and diversity within his company as the Departmental 2SLGBTQIA+ Champion.
In addition to holding executive positions on the boards of the OMS Montessori School, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate Americas, Inc., and the Real Property Institute of Canada, he was pleased to hold the position of President of the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Home.
His death has served as a two side of a coin, one so painful and the other has served as a life that was worthy of emulation. His funeral plans and obituary will be announced by his family at later time.
