Delaware State Police have verified the name of the pedestrian who passed away in an SUV accident on October 4, 2024 evening. The victim is Newark resident Prabhjit Klair, 72 years old. The incident happened on Corner Ketch Road, just south of Karrington Drive in North Star, at roughly 6:49 p.m.

Saturday’s public release of specifics about the crash Law enforcement accounts state that Klair started an eastward crossing on the southbound shoulder of Corner Ketch Road, failing to use a marked crosswalk. As he entered the southbound lane, he was struck by an approaching Subaru Outback.

Authorities said that Klair “fell into the southbound lane,” which resulted in the terrible SUV crash. Emergency officials declared him dead on scene.

Fortunately, the 38-year-old guy from Wilmington driving the Subaru had no injuries in the collision. The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is looking at the circumstances behind this sad occurrence carefully.

Authorities are trying to find the elements causing this sad death while the inquiry goes on, therefore underlining the continuous issues about pedestrian safety in the neighbourhood.
