During the evening of Thursday, there was a horrible accident that took place on Highway 74 close to Rochester, and it resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
The Minnesota State Patrol said that a collision occurred in Saratoga Township at about 6 p.m. Riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound near Park Road, the motorcyclist—identified as 61-year-old Ross Stensrud—veered off the road.
Responding authorities included those from the Saint Charles Fire Department, Saint Charles Police Department, and Winona County Sheriff’s Office. Stensrud sadly was declared dead at the scene of the tragedy despite their best efforts.
According to the accident investigation, Stensrud did not have on a helmet when the crash happened. Moreover, preliminary research indicates that alcohol might have been involved in the mortality incidence.
