On Sunday afternoon, a fallen tree tragically hit a motorcycle on Route 46 in Warren County. Officials from the State Police said the victim—identified as 32-year-old Travis Worrell—was biking westward in White Township close to milepost 11.8 when the tree suddenly toppled soon before 4 p.m.
Worrell was catapulted from his motorbike by the tree, suffering major injuries. Arriving at the site, emergency services tried their best but the Hackettstown resident was declared dead there.
Since the inquiry is still under progress, authorities have not published more specifics on the events of the incident. Emphasising the need of a comprehensive review of the events preceding the disaster so that all elements are taken into account, a State Police spokesman stressed
The unexpected death of Worrell has caused the community to grieve intensely and emphasises the risks that may strike without warning while riding. This sad event reminds us sharply of how erratic such circumstances on the road are. Officials will work hard to compile all pertinent data as the inquiry goes on in order to grasp the elements causing this terrible disaster.
